Brand Passport 3D game: grading scale

Compiled by Đỗ Thùy Hương & Phan Anh Tú

Individual play, scored out of 10. All points come from game results: the results screen, the event log and the «Decision footprint». There is no reflection essay or report.

1. Before you play

  • On the intro screen, enter the Class code in the «🎓 Class code» field, then pick your company. Without a Class code you are not graded.
  • The game has 6 quarters. Each quarter: gather intel (up to 2 sources), pick a priority and markets, commit the quarter, then handle one event.
  • After 6 quarters, press Submit result with your full name. Each in-game market is modelled on a real country (see the 📘 Handbook).
  • Pick your home country before you start: Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, India, South Korea, Japan, the United States or Germany. If you start from Korea, Japan, the US or Germany, that country's market slot becomes Vietnam.
  • Your home country sets the trade agreements and cultural distance to each market: no FTA → revenue −8%; a culturally distant market → up to −12% revenue in the first two quarters and less knowledge per intel purchase. These effects feed into the /100 total (A1).
  • Use the 🗺️ Full-screen map and 📇 Country dossiers (population, GDP, trade deals, barriers, FX, logistics, Hofstede dimensions) before choosing markets and entry modes.

2. Exam schedule

Date: ......./......./2026
Start time: ......:.......
Room: ..................

Total time: 60 minutes. The game opens each quarter on schedule, with a countdown at the bottom of the screen; you cannot commit a quarter before it opens. If a quarter ends before you commit, the game commits your selected priority («Strengthen resilience» if none) and picks the first option of the event.

5. What counts as a «sound» choice (A4a)

  • Protecting the brand long-term over short-term gain, e.g. holding price and telling the product story instead of matching a rival's price cut.
  • Handling incidents transparently: recall, apologise, compensate real customers.
  • Some choices are only sound if you meet the conditions at the time (market knowledge, reputation, capability, cash, green record). Check these before accepting a big opportunity.
